The City of Seattle wants every child to have the opportunity to succeed in their education. This journey starts with providing access to high-quality early education to our youngest learners. To achieve this goal, Seattle offers a variety of Early Learning programs that serve a diverse range of families with children ages birth-12. These programs include the Comprehensive Child Care Program, Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program, Step Ahead Preschool, and Seattle Preschool Program.
Working within the Department of Education and Early Learning, you will monitor and assess the service delivery and program quality for Early Learning programs that contract with the City of Seattle, as well as partner with programs and contractors to support quality programming and provide training they need to meet program standards. You will make sure Early Learning programs are meeting consistent performance standards by reviewing ongoing programs from every angle, including conducting program visits, observing classroom sessions and staff/child interactions, reviewing child progress files, and observing teaching methodology and implementation of curriculum in classrooms. You will be responsible for assessing the administration and implementation of pre-kindergarten education to ensure they are utilizing culturally and linguistically appropriate services. In addition, you will utilize your analytic abilities by interpreting program quality standards, funding standards, and State licensing requirements for program providers in the community.
To be considered for this position, you must submit your complete application, including all supplemental questions, and attach your resume and cover letter at https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/seattle no later than 4:00 PM Pacific Time on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
