The msrp on a new bass like this is $6500CAD. I'm looking for $5000. Unfortunately I am not altogether interested in trades, because this would be to pursue a different bass already.

The Good
This bass is priced affordably, set up comfortably, and is really to play/gig/record today. the sloped shoulders allow for easy access to thumb position. This bass is really a "solo" bass, speaking well in the upper register, and with the bow. The wood in this bass has opened up over the years (I bought it in 2015) and it is speaking quite nicely now.

The Bad
This bass does not produce excellent fundamental pitch below Ab on the E string. A trade off for the excellent upper register projection. It has only frustrated me when recording more modern folk sounds. In live scenarios, I have never noticed it. Also, the strings on this bass are literally from 2018! So for serious inquiries, maybe bring your own strings, or bear that in mind? I could go buy new strings and then sell the bass for $5500... right now it's set up with flexocore deluxe steel core hybrid strings. I quite like it for feel and sound, but the modern sound is not there. Much more of a vintage sound with these old strings.

The Ugly
This bass has seen repair. Everything has been professionally done by luthiers in Victoria. either Trav Short, or Jim Hamm. There are some cracks in the side that have been stapled together that range from 1 cm to 22 inches! the bass has been stable since 2018 when the last crack was repaired. No cracks in the top or back pieces. The long split in the side happened when I toured to Edmonton in January 2018 without a humidifier. I've been assured that the repair is now stronger than the side ever was, for what it's worth.
